Privacy Policy
1. Who we are
GTP Algo is operated by FULL LEGAL ENTITY NAME (PROPRIETORSHIP / LLP / PVT LTD), registered in India at REGISTERED ADDRESS, CITY, STATE, PIN.
This policy covers the website, the web application and the Android app. It is written to meet India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023.
2. What we collect
| Account details | Your name and email address, which you give us at sign-up. Phone number is optional. Your password is stored only as a cryptographic hash — we cannot read it. |
|---|---|
| Your work in the product | The strategies, backtests and settings you create. |
| Technical records | Sign-in times and security events, kept so we can protect your account. |
| Broker connection | An access token issued by your broker, stored encrypted, if you choose to connect one. |
3. Why we use it
To run your account, save your work, keep the service secure, send you the emails the product needs to send — verification codes, security notices, service updates — and to place the orders you authorise through your own broker.
4. What we never do
We do not sell or rent your personal data to anyone, for any purpose. There are no advertising networks, no ad identifiers and no third-party analytics in the app or on this site. We do not build behavioural profiles and we do not run targeted advertising.
If you turn on fingerprint or face unlock, that check happens entirely on your device. The app is told only whether it succeeded — your biometric data never reaches us.
6. Broker connections
You can connect a supported broker — currently Upstox and Fyers — so strategies you build can read market data and place orders you authorise.
You make that connection through the broker's own login screen. We never see or store your broker password. The broker gives us a token, we store it encrypted, and you can revoke it at any time from GTP Algo or from your broker. Your broker is a separate company with its own privacy policy.
7. How long we keep it
Account details and your work: for as long as your account is open. Security records: a limited period after the event. One-time codes: minutes. If you close your account we delete or anonymise your data, except anything a law requires us to retain.
8. Your rights
Under the DPDP Act you can ask us to give you a copy of your data, correct it, or delete it, and you can withdraw consent at any time. Write to privacy@gtpalgo.com from the address on your account and we will respond within a reasonable time.
Withdrawing consent may mean parts of the product stop working — for example, revoking a broker connection stops live trading.
10. Security
Traffic is encrypted in transit. Passwords are hashed, and broker tokens are encrypted at rest. Access to production systems is limited to the people who need it. If a breach ever affects your data, we will notify you and the Data Protection Board of India as the law requires.
GTP Algo is software, not advice. We are not a stockbroker and not a SEBI-registered investment adviser. Nothing in the product is a recommendation to buy or sell. Orders are placed through your own broker account, under your own authorisation.
11. Children
GTP Algo is not intended for anyone under 18, and we do not knowingly collect data from children. If you believe a child has given us personal data, write to us and we will delete it.
12. Changes
If we change this policy we will update the date at the top of this page, and tell you in the product before anything significant takes effect.
